Day 1: Nairobi to Masai Mara
We’ll pick you up at the location of your choice – hotel, residence, or JKIA Airport for an easy ride over to Wilson airport. There you’ll board your plane at 7 am for an approximately 1-hour flight to the Masai Mara. Winging over the sprawling Kenyan landscape, you’ll be treated to views of iconic Mt. Kilimanjaro and the dramatic escarpment of the Great Rift Valley.
Mid-morning you’ll touch down at the Mara airstrip where you’ll be met by your guide for the next three days. Your driver guide will grab your bags and usher you into a private, 4x4 land cruiser. You probably won’t have to go far before spotting some of the park’s prodigious wildlife. All of Africa’s ‘Big Five’ are found here – lion, leopard, elephant, rhino, and buffalo.
You will game drive until around noon when you will go to the camp for lunch and some relaxation.
Afterwards you will continue with your game drive until evening. Remember, while our guest, you get to choose the pace and schedule of your safari. Go on as many game drives as you please. Or, you can take rest breaks back at your accommodation. Just discuss with your guide how you’d like to plan your safari.
Dinner and overnight is at the camp.
Accommodation: Zebra Plains Mara Camp
Meals: Lunch & dinner (Drinking water is included)
Day 2: Full-day Masai Mara
We’re on safari time and that means an early rise to enjoy the morning light creeping across the plains and the sight of the wildlife emerging into the new day. This will be a full day of game drives and to do as you please. Lunch will be served inside the park picnic-style.
The game reserve is quite the animal kingdom and likely the very best place to see an amazing Eco system of African wildlife in the wilderness.
As the sun sets you will drive back to the camp for dinner and overnight.
Accommodation: Zebra Plains Mara Camp
Meals: Breakfast, lunch & dinner (Drinking water is included)
Day 3: Return to Nairobi
It’s our final day which we will enjoy breakfast at the camp. You have an option of visiting the Masai village today.
While the game viewing in the Mara is excellent year-round, there is also the opportunity to experience Kenya's rich cultural heritage. Many local communities still follow traditional ways of life, practicing ancient customs and rituals. Visiting villages provides an opportunity to understand Maasai traditions and history as well as community development and the preservation of traditional livelihoods.
Afterwards it’s time to hop into our safari land cruiser for a transfer to the airstrip to catch your 1-hour flight back to Nairobi at 11 am.
On arrival you will be received at the Wilson Airport. We will reserve lunch for you at the famous Carnivore restaurant. After a scrumptious meal you will be transferred to your city hotel/JKIA Airport depending on your flight timings back home. End of safari.
