Kenya’s Maasai Mara and Tanzania’s Serengeti National Park are the safari destinations that most people dream of for a holiday. This is majorly due to the fact that they host the phenomenal Great Migration which involves millions of wildebeest, zebra and gazelle traversing the open plains in search of greener pastures. The Ngorongoro features volcanoes, grasslands, waterfalls and forests, and it’s also home to the nomadic Maasai community. Lake Manyara is famous for its unique tree climbing lions, which attract many tourists from around the world. Day 1: From Nairobi to Lake Nakuru
Make a start to Nakuru from your hotel in Nairobi passing through stunning landscapes of the Great Rift Valley. Stop over at the viewpoint of the Rift Valley for a while before proceeding with the drive, upon reaching head into Lake Nakuru Park for the first safari drive. You will be welcomed by a great view of millions of flamingos nesting along the shores of the lake (You will be served packed lunch in the park). You will definitely spot some rhinos among other large mammals and birds. In the evening return to the hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: To Maasai Mara
Embark on a drive to Maasai Mara after breakfast, driving south via Narok (a small Maasai town). Take lunch at Enchoro Camp upon arrival in Maasai Mara as you rest a while. Thereafter head to the game reserve in search of the abundant wildlife that reside in these endless plains. The park is home to well over 450 species of birds, so Birders will definitely enjoy a safari here. In the evening return to the camp for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Traversing Maasai Mara
Spend this day roaming the expansive plains of the reserve looking out for attractions prevalent. The reserve delivers numerous attractions on top of the yearly Wildebeest migration that traverses both Serengeti and Maasai Mara (Have packed lunch at the Mara River). Since the drive will be extensive, you will have the perfect chance to see some lions, cheetahs, leopards, antelope, wildebeest, secretary birds among other renowned birds and animals. In the evening return to the camp for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: To Serengeti
After breakfast set off to Serengeti, passing through the southern part of Maasai Mara then undertake some immigration formalities at the Tanzania border, Isebania (Have lunch here). Thereafter proceed into hemingway Serengeti plains to do a safari drive on your way to the camp. This park offers a wealth of wildlife viewing opportunities, being well renowned for its predators – especially lions, cheetahs and leopards. Have dinner and overnight at the tented camp.

Day 5: Roaming Serengeti
Venture into an exhaustive safari drive inside the park keeping an eye out for the BIG 5 – lion, elephant, rhino, leopard and buffalo. There is a good chance of spotting these famous animals, despite the huge size and vastness of the park. This massive wilderness stretches across some 14,750 square kilometers, offering fantastic scenic views of the vast savanna as well as wildlife viewing moments. Take a lunch break at the camp before proceeding with the safari until evening. Return to the camp for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 6: To Ngorongoro Crater
Head inside the park after breakfast for a final game drive as you leave to Ngorongoro (savor the last moments at Serengeti with good photos for your travel journal). On reaching Ngorongoro, progress into the crater for a safari drive. Popular animals which are mostly viewed are zebra and wildebeest though this is a great place to spot black rhinos in Tanzania as well as black-maned lions. There are numerous colorful flamingos on top of other varieties of water birds surrounding the soda lake on the crater floor (Lunch break at Ngoitoktok springs picnic site). Other game visible here are leopard, cheetah, warthog, hartebeest, buffalo, eland, hyena, elephant and many other sorts of animals. Dinner and overnight at your tented camp.

Day 7: To Lake Manyara
In the morning depart for Lake Manyara, which hosts a great number of flamingos as well as other animals like hippos which dwell in the shallow part of the lake. Arrive in Lake Manyara to have early lunch, thereafter embark on a safari drive to sight the attractions among which is the unique tree climbing lions. The quirky character of these lions draw many tourists from around the globe to witness their uniqueness. Another unique animal is the shy dik dik which can be spotted on the slopes of the escarpment with a little search. In the evening return to your camp for dinner and overnight.

Day 8: Back to Arusha
