The main draw to these hot spots is the annual Wildebeest Migration which has over two million participants in the great trek for greener pastures. Lake Nakuru is famously known as the flamingo’s paradise, where you can witness thousands of these beautiful birds roaming around the lake’s waters feeding on algae. All of these destinations are unique in their own way with special offerings and attractions to satisfy your adventurous appetite.

Day 1: From Nairobi to Masai Mara.

Commence the tour from your hotel/residence in Nairobi then head to Maasai Mara, pausing briefly at the Great Rift Valley view point and Narok Town. Have lunch upon arrival at your Camp in Maasai Mara and rest for a while. Thereafter have the first safari drive in the park, spotting numerous attractions along the drive. The Mara is famous for the Great Migration crossing at the Mara River which can be witnessed between the months of July and September. In the evening return to the camp for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Roaming the Mara.

Relish this day traversing the vast savannah plains of the Maasai Mara, looking out for the prominent Big Five which can be found here. The often elusive leopard can be spotted with a bit of luck sleeping on tree branches, while the rhinos are usually quite rare as well. The other members of the big five can easily be seen vagabonding the wide areas in search for food. Lunch will be served at the Mara River, then proceed with searching for animals. In the evening return to the camp for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 3: Lake Nakuru (Flamingo’s Paradise).

Head into the park with your Tour Guide for the final early morning game drive in Maasai Mara. This is a good moment to spot animals as they awake from their slumber in the rising sun. Wind up your safari then return to the camp for mid-morning breakfast. Afterwards drive off to Nakuru, taking lunch along the way. Upon arrival check in at your Hotel in the evening and have dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Back to Nairobi.

Have early breakfast after awaking and refreshing, then afterwards your Guide will drive you into Lake Nakuru National Park to have a chance of spotting the rare black and white rhinoceros. Flamingos are also prominent in the lake, among other wildlife. After exhausting your game drive in the park, return to your hotel for lunch. Leave Lake Nakuru for a drive back to Nairobi arriving in the late afternoon for dinner and overnight.

Day 5: To Lake Manyara.

Get picked from your hotel in Nairobi at 5.00 am and drive to Arusha, having a stopover at the Namanga border post for immigration formalities. Upon arrival in Arusha at around mid-morning, advance into Lake Manyara National Park for the first safari drive in Tanzania. There are populations of large migratory mammals that move through this lake even though they are primarily concentrated in Tarangire, including gazelle, wildebeest and zebra. All meals and overnight at your camp.

Day 6: Ngorongoro Crater.

After breakfast, depart to Ngorongoro Crater which is a few hours’ drive from Lake Manyara. In the early afternoon upon arrival, embark on a safari, descending 2000 ft (670m) into the Ngorongoro crater floor. Break for lunch at Ngoitoktok springs picnic site after which you will continue with the tour. Over 20,000 large mammals live in the crater, mostly ungulates, and there are numerous lions within as well. After evening game drive, return to your camp for dinner and overnight.

Day 7: The Serengeti.

Bid Ngorongoro Crater goodbye after breakfast for a drive to Serengeti National park, reaching in time for lunch at the camp. Thereafter head into the park where you will notice an abundance of wildlife and high biodiversity. The Big Five is dominant here on top of multitudes of gazelle, impala, wildebeests and thousands of bird species. During the great wildebeest migration, the horizon fills with more than two million animals matching in the park’s plains. Dinner and overnight at your camp.

Day 8: Traversing the Serengeti.

Spend this day roaming the immense plains which stretch across the park and into the commuter shades of Lake Victoris. This park is habitat to many wildlife which you will enjoy spotting along the drive. Take a lunch and leisure break at the campsite around midafternoon then carry on with the tour. You will have ample time to spend and explore this wilderness until evening. Then return to your camp for dinner and overnight.

Day 9: Back to Arusha.

After breakfast leave the camp for your last game drive on your way out of Serengeti National Park to drive back to Arusha via Mto wa Mbu village where the tour ends in the afternoon with pleasant memories.
