In addition to ancient sites and pristine beaches, there are other stunning attractions a dedicated tourer just can’t miss. Lake Manyara is ideal for bird watching as it is home to thousands of flamingos and other varied wildlife. Zanzibar beaches are the best addition to a safari covering Tanzania, or even better put, a safari is the best addition to a Zanzibar holiday. All of the big five are easily spotted in this safari itinerary, which you can scrape off your bucket-list after experiencing this tour with us.

Day 1: From Arusha to Tarangire

Start the safari from Arusha at 8.00am, and drive to Tarangire national park arriving for an afternoon game drive. In the late afternoon you will have a short walk outside the park. Dinner and overnight at your camp.

Day 2: To Serengeti

Drive to Serengeti following breakfast in your camp at Tarangire. The most popular attraction in Serengeti is its wildlife. The large park encompasses a very high concentration of flora and fauna, hence you are bound to come across giraffes, elephants, hippos and lions as well during your safari game drive. Bird lovers will also enjoy the tour here; there are over 500 species of birds, including flamingos and ostriches. Dinner and overnight at your camp.

Day 3: Traversing the Serengeti

Spend this full day tracking animals in this vast game reserve. The Serengeti is renowned for its large lion population and is one of the best places to observe prides in their natural environment, and is home to the world's largest movement of animals, often called the “Great Migration.” The Serengeti plains are flat with dotted acacia trees that makes one able to see as far as he can with no interference. Dinner and overnight in your camp.

Day 4: Ngorongoro Crater

In the morning leave your campsite after breakfast to do your final safari drive thereafter depart Serengeti for a drive to Ngorongoro. Upon arrival at this pristine destination, you will descend 2000 ft into the crater floor to observe this world's largest intact volcanic caldera and home to the highest density of big game in Africa including black manned lions, rhinos, buffaloes, elephants and other grazers. Dinner and overnight at your camp.

Day 5: Lake Manyara

After breakfast, get back on track to drive to Lake Manyara. The lake has plenty of elephants, wildebeests along with so many giraffes, and buffaloes which you will have the chance to see. Dinner and overnight at your camp.

Day 6: Arusha Town

After breakfast go on the final game drive inside the park and leave Lake Manyara to Arusha arriving in the afternoon with good memories. Dinner and overnight at Arusha. For this tour to be more fascinating and memorable we carry on to the relaxing beaches of Zanzibar the following day. We shall arrange for your flight from Arusha to Zanzibar, spending two nights at Stone Town and another four nights at the Zanzibar beach in a resort.

Day 7 & 8: Stone Town

This whole city is totally amazing and there are incredible things to do here. From the moment you start strolling around, you’ll sense the sweet aroma of spiced tea in the air as well as hot grilling chapatis. You can wander around a fascinating Old Fort that now houses an art gallery and curio market, snap the archaic building walls against the blue sky as you enjoy some peace and quiet. Lasting roughly 3 hours, it is also worthwhile to make a trip to Prison Island to see the giant tortoises, which will include a boat ride there and you can enjoy snorkeling in the blue waters around the island.

Day 9-12: North Coast Beaches

Zanzibar is one of the most outstanding beach destinations, encapsulated with coral reefs that are lined by huge sweeping palm trees. Nungwi and Kendwa beaches in the north Coast of Zanzibar are remarkably beautiful; on this side of the island water is crystal clear, lapping brilliant white sands. Here there is a relaxed environment for you to breeze, giving that classic Indian Ocean feel. Pongwe on the East of Zanzibar sits neatly in a concave break in the beach coastline and it’s one of the only east coast beaches which is not tidal. However so, the experience certainly gives you a piece of luxury with the privacy it has.

Day 13: Back to Arusha

Based on your traveling time, you may want to depart after breakfast/ lunch to catch a flight or ferry to either Dar es Salaam or Arusha. If not, you could proceed to other areas of Tanzania depending on the plans you have laid out.
